2013 summer bucket list

Tomorrow is the last day of school.  Finally!  One of the perks of being the last to get out of school, is that I get extra time to browse through tons of other people's summer bucket lists, chore charts,  etc. and pick and choose my favorite.  There are some pretty amazing ideas and lists out there! 

But I also stumbled upon this quote and thought it was great!

Since we live in a pinterest world it can be easy to get caught up in making the “perfect” summer bucket list.  Guess what? Your kids aren’t going to care if your list is “Pinterestworthy”. They will only remember the fun times you shared.

so with that in mind, here is our 2013  summer bucket list.  This year, actually using a bucket!  after we complete something, we'll put the clothespin in the bucket.

 
Jacob loved this activity the best.  his say,  paintball, zoo, water fight and wash car.

I felt a little sad and nostalgic looking over the sweet summer bucket lists of moms with small children: make sidewalk chalk paint, make homemade bubbles, make flubber. Yes, those days are behind us.  My kids are 13, 11 and 7 (in August).  Our list is more big kid oriented with lots of outings! 

I love making these summer bucket lists because it helps our summer to be a little more intentional.  gives us new things to try...activities to look forward to....and it's fun!

ps--happy father's day Ryan!  we had grilled nectarines for dessert.  so yummy and easy!  just half and pit the nectarines.  grill 2 minutes on each side.  top with ice cream.
