mid winter break

we are lucky to get a week off of school in both February and April.  Here's what we did last week.

• enjoyed good weather!  most of the week was sunny in the 60's.  we tried to stay outside all day long.

getting ready for baseball season.  one more month!!

 

• Emily passed her four day lifeguarding course!!  Lots of hard work.  Now good luck on finding a summer lifeguarding job!  Her funniest story was at the end, after everyone had passed all the tests, the instructors told certain little kids to pretend to drown during open swim time.  Emily had to watch and rescue.  Some little kid was doing the deadman's float for a long time and Emily jumped in and grabbed him, and scared the crap out of him!  He wasn't one of the kids asked to fake drown by the instructor.  Just some kid playing in the pool. 

• A trip to the Lego store!  There were fun spring break activities for the boys, and then they each designed their own mini figure.

• I started giving Jacob piano lessons.  He loves it!  With all our kids, I teach for the first 1-2 years and then pass them off to someone else.

• Emily had a High School Musical marathon party!  Six girls, three movies, three Costco bags of popcorn devoured.

• A trip to Boehm's Chocolate Factory.  We have our own cute, little chocolate factory here in town.  You can watch them working through the windows. 

•  We finished up Jacob's science fair project.  His question was,  "What happens when you put soap in the microwave?"  lots of fun!!
