We broke out the deep fryer on New Year's Eve and invited the neighbors over for a party. doughnuts, oreos, fries and corndogs were all delicious.
leaving for the New Year's Dance. the kids were disappointed that because of a snow storm prediction, the dance ended at 11 pm instead of midnight. and then it didn't start snowing till way later, in the middle of the night.
and then we woke up Sunday morning to about one inch of snow! which is more than we've seen in years. Church was changed to sacrament meeting only for those who could drive. we were fine. and then we came home and built a snowman.
Trent got a slackline for Christmas so he set it up at the park. he loves it!
also, it was sad that Emily had a ton of homework and projects! she averaged a few hours a day doing homework the entire break. yuck,
this game is super fun. we played it every day during break. Jacob got it for Christmas.
At school Jacob just finished up a history unit about world explorers and played game called Galleon, one of the highlights of 5th grade. The kids are split up into various ships trying to get to the new world and there are pirates (other class members) trying to get your ship. Jacob's ship was the class winner! The whole game takes about 6 weeks and you get to move by demonstrating your knowledge. When Trent was a 5th grader he also won Galleon, (it's a huge deal) and he congratulated Jacob on defending the Angell name with pride.
