top 3 summer art projects

tips:
1.  I added a little more water than the recipe called for,  just enough to make it runny--like paint.
2.   a huge glob of paint, like below, isn't going to puff up as well as thin lines, like in my name, above.
3.  paper with tons of paint, will need longer microwave times.  Some of mine were up to a minute.

2.  This melted crayon art.  you've probably seen it on pinterest.

Tips.

1.  if you live somewhere HOT, you can just stick it outside.  if you live in Seattle, like me.  that's not going to work.  But you can still put it out in the sun for a few hours to soften it up, then start the blow dryers going.  There were some complaints on pinterest that just using blowdryers wasn't giving as good as results.  so leave it outside to soften up first.

2.  Two blow dryers will get it going much faster. total time:  5 minutes!

3.  if you leave it out in the sun, then forget about it and the sun moves, your art gets left in the shade and it all hardens again, like what happened to me below, it will still turn out fine!!  just re-melt it  and keep going.

if you don't touch it and let the crayons run where ever, it will look like below.   Emily, smeared with a paper towel and started blow drying side ways to cover the entire canvas.  both ways look great!

3.  these bangles    basically, anything with oven bake clay is a huge hit here.

We didn't get any fun projects done this summer - my poor kids. Oh well. I love what you did - very fun! (And too bad it wasn't hot enough just to put the crayons outside like Shannon did, although, maybe you wouldn't want it quite that hot :).
