the sweater incident

Emily and I had this conversation yesterday when she came home from school.

Emily:  "Mom, is that a new sweater?  I love it!"

Me:  "yes, it is.  thanks."

pause

Emily: "Now you know that if you had bought that sweater for me, we'd have to take it back to the store, right?  but it's really cute on you!"

awkward pause

Me:  "okay, got it."

I guess I like mom sweaters!!
