Trent hiked St. Helens on Saturday with his scout troop. He cannot stop talking about it. He had so much fun, but said it was also the hardest thing he's ever done. They hiked 10 miles (roundtrip) and approx 4300 vertical feet. Took them around 9 hours, which was making great time! It was sunny/hot on top (enough for burns!) and views of Mt Adams, Hood and Rainier. His favorite part was sliding down, They got to use their pick axes to slow them down as needed and they slid about 1500 feet.
This is what happens when you put sunscreen on random parts of your face, and not your whole face.

This is one of his leaders, sliding down.

Jill this is so great! It reminds me of our hike up Mt. Whitney last year. Trent is awesome. And the pictures are fantastic! The sunburn not so great but hilarious. Trent looks like Joseph Smith in his profile. ;) Love and miss you,
