two broken arms

On the first week of summer vacation, which was one week after Trent broke his pinky finger, he was rollerblading and fell and broke his wrist.  Which meant two casts.   worst summer ever...

It actually hasn't been as bad as we thought.  Trent is left handed, and the blue cast on his left hand still had movement with three fingers, so he was able to eat, take a bath etc. on his own.  We had his hair washed at Great Clips for $10 every few days.

One week later...

the blue cast came off and is now a removable brace. He got a green cast on his right arm (it was a splint for a bit, while we waited for the swelling to go down)  and this is where we're at right now!

and of course, the casts did not slow him down on July 4th doing fireworks

We are determined to still have a fun summer!  The kids spent 4 days in Idaho with my parents and had a blast at cousins camp.  My parents took great care of Trent and his arms.  We have made a list of all the fun things you can do in the area that don't involve water and will try to do as many as we can.

ps--we all love the new Disney movie, Teen Beach 2.   and although I don't know if this will be Trent's best summer ever, like the song talks about, I'm sure years from now we'll be saying, "remember that one summer when you had two broken arms!?"
