He started out towards the bottom of the line up and now is ranked around 25 out of 60 boys on the team. not bad for a freshman! His current 5K time is 20:47, which I think is amazing.
also, I love that they have team photographers and a team blog!
first meet was rainy and cold
second meet was an away meet at Mt. Si high school. Mt. Si in the background! can you find Trent below? not in uniform, standing.
Injury update: Trent grew 6.5 inches and gained 30 pounds in the last year. As a result, he has a growth plate strain (Sever's Disease) on his heel, which is common in teen boys. It started last May during track season. We worked with a podiatrist all summer, doing stretches, sleeping with a brace and no running. But on the 5th day of XC practice, the pain came back in Trent's heel. And so now he is in a cast boot except he can take it off for XC. It has helped a lot and the pain is almost gone. probably three more weeks of the boot. He said when he stops wearing the boot, no one at school will know who he is because he is "the kid in the boot".
