Love the place you live: the pumpkin patch!

This past week Ryan's parents came to visit!  We had a great time showing them around.  Our favorite thing we did was visit the pumpkin patch.   One of the coolest things ever!  I had never been to a "real" pumpkin patch before.  In California, a pumpkin patch would be a field, with pumpkins driven in by a farmer, and lined up in rows in the field.  In Washington, this is the actual patch where they are growing!  A tractor drives you out to the fields, then you get to slosh through the mud and cut your pumpkin off the vine.  It's also fun to see how they grow, the not ripe pumpkins and see other things, like gourds mixed in.

The kids also really enjoyed this apple press--the apple juice was being made into apple cider
