pine wood derby

You can tell this was Trent's third and last pine wood derby for cub scouts, because Ryan didn't take his camera (which means no awesome, photographer quality pics)  and on my point and shoot, I mananged to get a few blurry pictures, none of which, contained Trent's car!

Here was our first pine wood derby!

It was a great night--but Trent was a little upset that his car was normal, came in somewhere in the middle every race.  and Emily took first in the siblings races and Jake took second!!  go figure.

waiting for the races to start--this boy next to Trent is Solomon, the nicest boy who just moved into the ward.  They have 9 kids, all with unique Bible names.  no Matthew, Mark Luke or John.  think, Solomon, Gideon, Simeon,  etc.

maybe I should have focused more on pictures of Trent than pictures of the food--but it was all so cute!  The spare tires were Oreo cookies.  We have a new cub committee chairperson, who has been asked to basically revamp our cub program and make it awesome.  and she is doing a wonderful job.

Jake on the left, Emily on the right.  Emily is recycling her car from last year, painted with nail polish

missionaries were the judges--every boy left with a candy bar, certificate and blue ribbon.  plus trophies for the winners

We'll be back in two years with Jake!
