The activity: the night before Thanksgiving, the girls came over to my house and I taught them how to make pie crusts. we went over how to measure shortening and then cut the shortening into the flour. They each made their own fruit filled pie. They were supposed to bring their own pie filling. I had a few extra cans for those who forgot. I had printed out various pictures of decorative pie crusts ideas for them to browse through. They took their pies home to bake at home.
Then...we had a pie eating contest for those who wanted to participate. 2 of the girls decided they'd rather be judges. It was a mess! But they had a lot of fun.
