I kept waiting to post more about my parents trip because I was waiting for our nativity dress up pictures to be made available, but it's taking too long. so here we are sans nativity pics.
Last weekend my parents came up to visit. We only get to see them 2-3 times a year. It's amazing how much you still need your parents even as an adult. It's so nice to have your mom walk around your house and ooh and aww over your Christmas decorations and tell you you're beautiful and that you're doing a great job as a mother. Grandparents are so much more patient than parents. They will look at a rock collection for 30 minutes and sit by Jacob during the 2 hour symphony concert, entertaining him, and buy the kids silly things like Christmas tree hats.
Besides the Christmas Ship Festival, we also visited the Festival of the Nativities, where my Japanese nativity was displayed. This is one of our favorite things to do at Christmas. I love seeing all the nativities from different countries.
we also went to the Bellevue Botanical Garden, to view their lights, went to XXX Rootbeer for lunch, my dad's favorite place. and stopped at Cheesecake factory to get some cheesecake to go.

and on Sunday, the kids had a Christmas choir concert, with the Sammamish Symphony. It was awesome!
We opened a few presents early. My parents really surprised the kids this year with their own suitcase and a plane ticket to Idaho. meaning...that they would be flying ALONE this summer to spend a few days in Idaho without me and Ryan. It's going to be really hard for me to put them on a plane this summer, and hope Jake and Trent don't kill each other. but by next summer they will be ages 8, 12 and 14, plus with all the flying we used to do in Japan, they are airport pros.
